Woke up real early. We’re going to Dunedin! (pronounce ‘duh-ni-den’) Feeling excited as well thinking this gonna be our first stop where we wouldn’t know anyone. Arrived at the city like 20 minutes before the bus leaved. Sesat! We were wandering around at the wrong side to searching for the bus where it was actually at the other side. Well, Worcester St. is a very long road. But finally a lady came up to us. She’d probably saw the confused and worried faces of us. She helped us by telling that the place we were actually waiting for the bus was actually at the other side, at the back of the church. Oh Thank God! We did arrive there safely at last. There we saw a big double deckers bus with Dunedin sign on it. Yupp…this is it! We were fine till that. Said goodbye to Christchurch, but we’re coming back again.

The journey to Dunedin was almost 5 hours. Aahh…bengkok duduk dlm bas lelama kan…Finally arrived at our destination at 1:45 pm. Took a cab to our accommodation, The YHA Stafford Gabbles. The building was already 90 years old of age, but yet it was really nice inside in spite of  the floor always make a funny sound when people walked on it.

Here was the place where some serious s**t had happen to us. We were told by the Reception that our bookings had been cancelled due to unpaid payment. What the! ~ We had our payment for the accommodation settled long before we’ve got here. We were really shocked! We’ve got the traumatized look on our face, just can’t believed what they were saying. We had paid almost 500 something for it, and if it doesn’t reach them, where does it go? The reception was kind enough to still give us a room, but we have to pay for it again while she tried to call the YHA main office and talk about it. We’re so pissed out. Imagined what we felt? Most of our money we had spent just on it and the rest would be for the tour and other stuff. Surely it wouldn’t be enough for another 2 weeks if we have to pay it again. So much for a start huh? All our booking at other places would also terminates then. Tensen nyerr! We are so hungry by the time we arrived Dunedin, but we just don’t feel like eating until everything is sorted out. Not long after that, the main office rang them. Finally, it was sorted out. It was all their fault and they apologised for it. The accountant didn’t aware that we had made a telegraphic transfer for the payment. They had rebooked all our bookings and then everything was fine. And we got the refund back. Fiuhhh….giler aa…

Still in the state of shocked about the incident. Had some rest for a while. Later that evening, went off to the city. It was only a 10 minutes walk from our place. Had a cold and chilled walk of Dunedin at night. This place had a very Scottish flavour; it was called Dunedin as a part of Scotland for the South. The name itself represents the Scottish essence, where it actually comes from the word Edinburgh somewhere in Scotland, I guessed.

Went back and had dinner. Slept quite early the nite. Well so much had happened that day….
